2016 | Zehra Arslan – Nuria Fuster

Curated by Massimiliano Scuderi

This double exhibition at Fondazione Zimei showcases site-specific work by artists Zehra Arslan and Nuria Fuster, produced during their residency at the foundation this July. Arslan will show installations alongside wall based pieces and paintings that expand into the physical space, while Fuster presents minimalist sculptures as an approach to the reality of the given space. Zehra Arslan’s work ranges from sculpture, film, writing to painting with a focus on research led material compositions. Her works often touch upon socio-economic subjects without necessarily claiming a sole territory; the use of a certain poetic awkwardness and humor become introductory tools.
Nuria Fuster works on the sculpture practice as human experience, as building, as process, as trasformation and as a dynamic open tool, in continuous dialogue with science, policy, architectural objects and mental representations.
The exhibition is curated by Massimiliano Scuderi, artistic director of Fondazione Zimei.
